Ta-daaaaaaa, new fridge! The Norcold N2175 is an *EXACT* fit in place of the RMD8555 ...
and I rewired the power to the emergency breakaway switch, 10 gauge back to my main power panel, but I need to add a 30A or so fuse (or a thermal breaker), the emergency brakes draw like 15 amps.

Once cold, it looks like this fridge is using 3-5 amps 30-50% of the time, so that's about 30-50 AH per day. Need more time collecting data to confirm this.

Interested in the data and what you think of the compressor noise for sleeping.

yes, but the sound of me pulling my hair out when my authorized dometic dealer can't get an ETA on new controller parts for my RMD8555 is most certainly NOT silent.
that and finding things partially thawed in the absorption freezer during a heat spell because it can't deal with 100F+ weather. and the fragile plastic shelves. and....
anyways, I'll be running my power tests for the next bunch of days, all data from a SmartShunt on the batteries, solar and converter switched off, and will report in, probably on my Liiii-thium thread.

That's a great looking fridge and installation, John, congrats and kudos!
Did you happen to notice if there's any labeling on the compressor unit itself indicating if it is sourced from Secop / Danfoss by Norcold? Just curious.

they are advertised as using Danfoss/Secop, but I didn't look. I'll see if I can see anything throught he outside vent... Ahhh, no. the label on the compressor says Sikelan Thetford. Uses R600a refrigerant, which is apparently iso-butane.
AH, Thetford owns Norcold now. Sikelan is made by Zhejiang Maidi

annnd, today's minimal project was, rerouting the emergency braking power wire to go through the spare 30A thermal breaker, and securing said wire out of the way of the inevitable under-the-bench storage. I have taken the U center bench off limits as thats where my major wiring board is. but by moving the batteries to the very rear curbside corner, I freed up the space under the curbside bench, hopefully my wife will be good with storing spare quilts there instead of piling them on the dinette. the street side bench has traditionally been mostly stuff like paper towels, TP, kleenex, and a few games (Jenga and such)

We have a 19' and were told a larger fridge wouldn't fit though the front door. Did you have any difficulties in this area?

the RMD8555 and my Norcold N2175 are virtually the same size, and while I didnt watch the mobile RV repair guy do the swap, he got the old one out and the new one in without any issues. I did see him rigging the new one with a pair of nylon straps that his two workers and him used to pick it up upright, he was guiding, they were doing the grunt work. per my measurements both fridges fit in the door just fine.
the N2175 has *exactly* the same opening dimensions as the RMD8555, and is maybe 1" deeper, but doesn't need any rear venting as all the coils and stuff are on the bottom rather than the back. in fact, i'll be removing/capping off the roof 'exhaust' vent to make room for my larger solar panel in a week ro so (ok, my marine fiberglass repair guy will be doing this, heh).

We installed the Lippert friction hinges. It is so nice to be able to open the door all the way! Next project, changing the Battery Disconnect switch.

I installed a second sewer hose tube on our 5.0. First photo is the drivers side. Second photo in the passenger side.

I also installed a battery watering system on our 5.0. The batteries are so difficult to check and fill this will make it so much easier.

I started demo work for raising the dining table & going to one back leg(to give dogs a "space" to go to). But, did get the 1st of 3 pullouts, in, & the hard old mattress out. Saw how on here.
