Because I own a 5.0TA there's plenty of metal under the loft. And, there's a light! I think I'll put some theater parchment paper under the lens. I worry about someone walking into the king pin at night (I've done it!) I always try to leave enough space between the rear of my truck and the king pin so someone can safely walk between, but when it's really, really dark...BAM.

Lots of good ideas...I feel I have been successful when people run with an idea and fine tune it to their needs.

The Sumerians. (but, they may have gotten the idea from the far east.)

Update: My wife buys little round solar/battery lights for the garden at the Dollar store. I'm just going to tape one to the tongue jack tube and see how I like it. I might even swap out the white LED for a red one. Cheap/Simple!!

Yes. Please protect the rapidly vanishing dark sky.

I don't think anyone has hit our pin box yet, but the top of the entry door..... yeah, I am guilty on many occasions of doing that and have a few scruff marks to prove it.

Nobody has hit our pin box either as far as I know but our now eight year old granddaughter had a habit when younger of crossing our driveway and hitting her head on the king pin itself . So I hung a piece of orange tape off it so she would see it

If you have 12V nearby, Jim's (cpaharley) has suggested adding one of these LEDs. They draw very little, (10 - 15ma) so they can be left on all the time & if you choose red (there are 50 of them in the package & 5 colors) you will keep Richard (Telescopist) happy...

Fortunately no, I think after the second time she learned to watch where she was going. Guess she was just excited to come and see Nana and Grandad!

We bought some stick on LEDs from the Dollar Store, $9.99. They have an on and off switch. The stick on tape is very strong and does not require any screws. We mounted one just below the front belly band, the lights are also motion sensitive. With no movement 4 semi dim lights glow, motion and it is bright! They are great for night time trips to the campground bathroom and are as bright at 5 am as they are at 8pm. The tops have a 2"x4" solar panel and the lights just recharge during daylight and glow at night. We turn them off when towing, just in case we are towing after dark, as we do not want the distraction. When we run out of propane at night the lights come on with our movement and light up the propane cover so we can reach inside and turn off one cylinder and turn on the other.

Easy red light
We have a cheap motion sensitive light in the bathroom. To make it night vision friendly, I colored the lens with a red Sharpie. Not elegant but it works well.

I ran the refrigerator without the awning with the outside temperature about 95 degrees F and it only cooled to about 44 degrees. With the awning, it is cooling to 38 degrees so this project is a success for us.

You could decorate the pin box with reflective tape, like the kind Jon V. has on his trailer's rear bumper.
