Fran & Dave: You said that for the bathroom door you went top to bottom so you would have a secure place for the footman's loops. By secure are you saying that's where the wall reinforcing is? Also to go vertical on this door I am assuming you would need a strap 13' long. Is that about right?
Thanks for you help.
Dave
You are correct. We could not find solid sounding attachment points for mounting the anchors for a side to side strap. We had to go up closer to the ceiling to get a more solid point above the door and the bottom was no problem. Yes - the strap would need to be at a little more than 13'...I ordered 15' and cut off about a foot and only had about a 6 inch 'tail'. I wouldn't make it any shorter.

I installed one of those child proof locks used in homes on mine, I believe there is a picrure in the Planned modifications to BlackJack thread. If not you can see mine in Osoyoos, otherwise I can not post pictures until I get home.

After reading this thread, I made a strap from strapping material and D rings I already had and got two footman loops. Went out to install it, opened the fridge and the door came off onto the floor. Already hit one bump too many on a short trip the other day I guess. Wasn't even using the fridge. I got the door back on but it will need a repair.
