Me too! The CCC and the WPA were instrumental in all sorts of projects that helped communities after WWII. My own community in Mishawaka Indiana has a lovely river stone wall the CCC put in and it is still lovely to see and picnic in site of. It runs for miles.
This approach build community awareness at the same time as providing jobs and instilling a sense of pride in individual communities and improving lives. That is priceless!
