Wife and I got first Moderna shots two days ago in Southern Az. Slightly sore at injection site but no other reactions. Well run operation, in and out in half hour (15 minutes waiting to see if we had bad reaction).

Me! I got a little weepy. The shot didn't hurt, it was an emotional thing. I did a drive through at the PDX airport. Thousands of cars and volunteers. So very well organized. Happy Dance!

and the day before my appointment for my seccond shot, they called off the delay, and I had my 2nd appointment on time.

got to the Sutter SF Covid facility (a big empty newer warehouse building), and unlike the first time, I had to park quite a ways, and there was quite a line on the sidewalk, monitored by security folks. a couple went up the line asking when our appointments were, mine was in 15 mins, so I and a few others were bumped way up in line, so I was in and out of there in 25 minutes or so, including the 15 minutes waiting for the rare severe reactions. site was very well staffed, and being run very efficiently. various line monitors holding us at choke points, then waving us on, then a pre-check desk with two stations where they took my temp via a IR thermometer to the forehead, asked the usual questions, sent me to the 'red' line, which was quite short, one of 20 desks with an operator and a computer terminal, I showed my ID and appointment card, thanked, checked in, and sent to yellow line, also quite short, then directed to one of about 30 vaccination stations, each with a chair at the end of a table, a clerk(?) sitting at a laptop, and a EMT actually giving the shot. showed my ID and card to laptop clerk, emt prepped the site, gave me the poke, put a bandaid on it, and clerk filled in the 2nd shot specifics, and sent me to the exit observation area with a 2:10 exit time (my original appointment was 1:45)

arm felt sore the next day or two, much like I'd had been hit with a noogie knuckle a few days prior, maybe a little harder than the first shot.

all is good.

Second Moderna vaccine kicked me

I got the second Moderna shot mid-morning yesterday. I was warned twice that my reaction to it would likely be greater than my reaction to the first one.

It was. For the rest of the day I felt okay, but last night at around 1:00 a.m. I awoke with chills and fever. The chills went away but the fever remained, climbing to 101.8 at one point. At the same time, a fierce line of thunderstorms rolled through. It was like a Gothic horror movie. I'm going to take it easy today and probably sleep a lot.

If it’s any consolation Mike, I had the identical reaction to the second Moderna vaccination. I was back to normal (if I’m every really normal. [emoji6]) in about 36 hours.

I received my first Pfizer shot yesterday, quite painless and without side effects. But I was in bed by 8 pm last night so that could be a result, three more weeks for 2nd shot.

a week after my 2nd Pfizer shot, I can say the 2nd shot left my upper arm a little sorer than the first one but it only lasted a day or two and i'm back to normal.

My first shot was the result of a cancellation due to an incoming snowstorm. And was a next day deal. My attitude improved about 100% and has gotten better every day since. We are second shot plus three weeks now. Good times ahead

New York state opened up to 50 years old and up now. I get my second Moderna tomorrow. I am week late but am told 5 weeks is ok. I been drinking lots of water today. My wife has be Volunteering at the clinic and tells me people that are well hydrated have less side affects.I don't now if there is any truth to it,But water is cheap.

Latest from Texas .... all adults eligible (16yo+ Pfizer; 18yo+ Moderna / J&J), if you can find 'em ...

Texas to Open COVID-19 Vaccination to All Adults on March 29

Wishing all wherever you are good luck and best health. Fingers crossed for rapidly increasing availability and participation everywhere - yes certainly, for our Canadian friends too!

FWIW my over 50yo brother & SIL got their first Pfizer jabs last Saturday at a massive drive-through operation at the COTA racetrack near Austin; reported that it was well-run and reasonably quick in spite of huge numbers of vehicles (with many parallel processing lanes); that operation is spooling-up to process 10k persons/day (currently Friday-Sunday, aiming for 7-days/week). Their 16 & 18yo kids, still in remote learning situations, are chomping-at-the-bit to get vaccinated. Here's hoping for the best!

Signed,
The Eternal Optimist

Got my first Pfizer vaccine yesterday, no side effects other than sore arm. Technically I should get the second the week of April 10, but since we will be camping in Gulf Shores that week, I'm scheduled for April 20 instead.

A little bit like when I get an allergy shot for initial reaction to first Moderna. No big deal. We’ll see if anything else comes in a day or two. Giving blood this afternoon, so we’ll see if anything changes. @nd shot April 21.
