We had a 2007 17B for 5 years. We sold it to upgrade, actually we were waiting for a used 19, didn't happen. We looked at other RV manufactures and decided it was Escape or Tiffin. We couldn't afford a Tiffin so Escape it was.

So my quality is equal on both trailer so where's the quality reduction?

Thought this forum was a place for Escape discourse both positive and negative, we must respect both if we want honesty in our brand

**How about letting United States customers pay in Canadian Dollars? Canadian prices only went up 5%. Source? This forum.“**

The change in US$-CDN$ exchange rate is likely the cause for the other 5% in the US$ price increase.

Our friends had a pristine 5.0, but six months later had a chance to purchase a rare 28' Tiffin with two solar systems (one 600 watts and one 300 watts), 6 two-year old Lifeline AGM's, many other upgrades, with only 60,000 miles for $92,000. It turns on a dime! I told them that if they didn't buy we would.

In the summer it sits in the same seasonal campground our 5.0 sits and we have to look at their Tiffin every time we go to our site.

Enjoy,

Perry

You hit the nail on the head cpahartley - good sage information from a Escape owner who has used the product for many years. Thank you! PS price increases can happen every year in many industries. With all the obstacles in 2020 with Covid and the economy - no one should be surprised about a price increase.

Cool Canada vs US

I haven't seen a post dealing with the exchange rate between the US and Canada.

Oops, #103 does. Didn't notice multiple pages.

Has the border crossing issue been solved? Used to be a two week quarantine before you were allowed into the public coming from the US.

BTW today it is $1.25 CDN = $1.00 US.

True. But the trend over the past few months has been negative. ETI must estimate the average exchange rate for the next year, and with a negative trend will likely estimate the trend will continue.

By the way, the one month old E19 is still impressing us. No problems other than trying to figure out how to get the screws in the tracks for the Eggscape-inspired storage system under the bed.

Did each of your Escapes get larger or did you buy another Escape for other reasons? We bought a 21NE and plan on it being the last trailer we buy

While I did not notice a huge quality difference between my 2011 17 & my 2017 21C, obviously both were under Reace & Tammy's leadership. There were a couple of cost/time savings that caught me eye - the GFCI for the kitchen was in the outside receptacle, requiring a trip in the weather to reset, and the use of the RV type boxless receptacles throughout the trailer, difficult to replace, and not as reliable as a standard receptacle. Still, a well built trailer.

Now to the important part of this thread -

I'd probably be considered an unsophisticated beer drinker, but my favorite is Alaskan Amber. Hard to find east of the Mississippi. In the east, Kona Big Wave Golden Ale and a somewhat close second - Blue Moon Belgian White. The Kona is a bit more difficult to find...

Hi Jon
After you gave me An Alaskan at Alfs rally one fall I found it a few times back here and bought some. Then when I went to Osoyoos one year I bought some in the Safeway at Grand Coulee and crossed the border with it. Glenn and I tried them and he found it “not too bad”. So I left some with Glenn along with a couple spuds that the US Border guys seem to have a fetish for. I see it here once in a while in the big grocery stores but it’s hard to get space in those coolers. The specialty beer places usually have it. I have been drinking mostly Belgians with some Germans and a little Dos Equis. The Blue Moon is regularly on sale here and usually pairs with the purchase of some fresh meat. Which is not a problem for this old carnivore.
Have a good weekend coming up and stay dry.
Iowa Dave

In response to your request, please help me or all current owners or all potential customers to understand why, if you believe there is a quality reduction, you either plan to have or have such an increasingly high priced, lower quality trailer on order. It just doesn’t make sense to me that anyone seemingly disgruntled would bother to move forward with plans to own an Escape. Perhaps you are basing your quality complaints on a handful of posts you have read from people who complain every time something doesn’t work properly. I can assure you they also complain when the water pump on their high mileage vehicle starts leaking or their 7-year old battery goes dead, or their washing machine at home goes on the fritz.
My thoughts precisely, well put.

There’s currently a poll about escape quality on another thread, many of the same people on this thread have completely contradicted themselves on this thread.

Over the months I've read on and on how the ramped up production and the change of ownership has many on here concerned.

A prospective owner asked a simple question on this thread and many of the same people that are appalled here at his question, are now confirming his concerns on the poll question thread.
