Funny guy, using the punch line to "When is a door not a door?"
So when is a car not a car?

Options
After cremating a frozen pizza in the BBQ on our maiden voyage, I would add the oven option next time.

We have done dozens of pizza on the BBQ using an oven stone. Not much you can do with an oven that a BBQ can't do, except bake inside.
*says the guy who's wife pushed for an oven*

My wife thought about the oven but decided a toaster oven is all she needs. Like the idea of doing the pizza in the BBQ, where did you find the pizza stone?

Almost any kitchen store would have stones. Here's just one:

Go to any store that sells tile, and buy a polished travertine tile, and cut to size. They are usually about one half inch thick. Works as good as a store bought stone, fits perfect this way, and WAY cheaper. Works great for baking on too, brownies, mac 'n cheese, and the like.

Way cheaper? Hard to beat $15 especially if one doesn't have a shop with a stone cutter at hand.

We installed Umbra hooks, by cutting into two pieces, as well.
See Post #5:

We used small bolts w/fender washers & lock nuts, in the unreinforced cabinet ends. Works fine.

I spent a considerable amount of time, years ago, trying to find the right type of tile to use as a pizza stone. I forget exactly what you want to avoid, but I was not successful. Got one at a kitchen store.

Yep, less than 1/4 the cost of a store bought one. Did that one you listed work good for you? It would save time. Some, but very few BBQs are round, and though to find one the right size even with a rectangle shape.
Besides, most good quality stones are way more than the one you listed, especially up here.
Mine is the perfect size with close to an inch all around for air circulation.

We have baked buns, brownies, cakes, but not cinnamon buns. Just use your favourite recipes. If your built in thermometer is not accurate, an oven thermometer helps.

We sent the umbra hooks to ETI directly from Amazon. I was surprised they weren't installed until we to took possession of our trailer. Then and there they asked us where we wanted them. Perhaps, because they are located at the top of each wall, there is likely reinforcement in place. Can't say for sure, but that is my guess.

I was told that in general they did not need reinforcement in the walls for Umbra hooks as they know where the studs are, however they might not be able to put them exactly where you want them but could get close that way.

Hi DKirk,
I like to have BBQ pizza when I have guests over .... stone not required but can be useful.
1) Make pizza dough and pinch off enough dough to make an 8" crust or so.
2) BBQ on one side - dough only
3) Bring in for guests to put toppings on BBQ side. They have been asked to bring 2 of their favorite toppings to be shared by all.
4) Return to BBQ and cook raw dough side down ... when toppings have melted together .... lets eat! Pizza "owner" can only eat 1/2 of their creation ... other half is shared. Fresh pizzas come off the grill so fast nobody faints from starvation.
5) Drink another beer and start over. Might require some experimental heat regulation.
6) If your friends are all a bunch of gluttons like mine, you can pre-cook some crusts on one side and put aside or freeze.
Its a fun thing to do with a group.
Tom

Second outlet below kitchen counter
Does anyone wish they had purchased a second outlet below the kitchen counter, allowing more than 2 appliances to be plugged in at one time?
