Does one dare to tell a woman in a campground that she has a nice looking trailer? Her husband might think you're remarking about her rear end!

But Dave if they have a modern setup it shouldn't include a caboose, have you seen one behind a train in the last thirty years or so?

Wow this thread has really got off the original topic.

Just back from the fueling station. $3.95 US gallon. But what's going on in the world, I don't expect it to go down anytime soon. Since I don't go anywhere, this should last me a couple of months since my truck has a 36 gallon tank...

End of the train

Re Cabooses. Yes I have seen cabooses behind operating trains in the past three months. Several in fact. Never get in a bar bet with me. Especially betting drinks.

$3.39 here, up from $3.19 early in the week. Y'all vacation down this way, you'll save a few shekels.

Or drive slower. I'm planning one long distance trip, tieing in with bring my new aussie puppy home, last thing on the way home. Then will not be going anywhere for awhile. My "plan" was to raise/train the puppy while waiting for my build spot(which was 8/23). Finding a use E19 changed "my Plans"? So will do some work on it.

3.85 per gal. here in central New York . 15 cents more and we’ll be at 4.00. Gonna stay close to home this year, no long trips for awhile.

Premium at Costco here was $4.69 the other day. Heading to Death Valley next month, filling the F250 with 38 gallons of diesel there is gonna hurt. Fwiw, gas at Stovepipe Wells is nearly always way cheaper than Furnace Creek. And if you run out of the park to Beatty, NV it's a lot cheaper

Entering from the east a few years back it looked like a wise move to top off our tank at a Shell in Pahrump. Wonder how many miles to the gallon that ancient cruiser got.

Gas prices

Parts of SW FL are already between $3.49 and $3.99.

We wouldn’t be surprised if it’s upwards of $5 a gallon for the trek home.

that specific Chevron has always been outrageous. many years ago I was on my motorcycle, which only had a 6 gallon tank, and was staying a few days in the valley, so HAD to fill up. I thought these were the most outrageous gas prices I'd ever seen...

It takes $1.31 in today's dollar to equal a dollar in 2008. Therefore the 2008 gas at today's dollar would be $5.63, so we were much worse off in 2008.

I don't worry about the price of gas since my retirement investments have more than tripled (probably much more, but we're in Arizona and don't have the exact numbers) since 2008. We didn't piss our money away during our working years like some of our complaining friends, and still discuss every discretionary expense.

Food for thought,

Perry

Paying more for gas is a lot better than having to fill bottles with gas to make Molotov cocktails to resist an invasion.

There are many people in various situations and sometimes it’s not all because of their doing or lack of that has them in tough spots as they get older. Then there are younger people, some of which may be our children or grandchildren just starting out. I’m pretty much libertarian and can see how many create their own troubles, in fact I have a front row seat, but fuel prices being high make things so much harder on people with less.

Something to digest…

No, not really because it's actually happening. Fortunately none of us is in that position although I did read up on how to create a Molotov cocktail because ya never know.....
