Anyone have an approximate head count of how many people will be at this rally?

I was tempted to say two, you and I. But I know that is not correct. I would guess more than 30 and less than 50.

Hey Paul I’m an eternal Optimist . I was typing when you answered and was thinking 75. We’ve got about 80 units at Algonac tonight and I’d say 1.75 people per unit. There are a few kids and a few single campers. There’s some people who are about 1/2 gone and some went sailing and are three sheets to the wind so I’m figuring about the same percentage count
for your rally. I’ve enlisted the firm Rally Kings to cover the action for any bets on the final number at the Mississippi. Rally Kings is operated by Finance majors from the iowa and iowa
State football teams. They are nice Felonies er Felons , er fellows. .

I was looking at google maps between us and the rally for anything of interest along the way and I found that the 1UP bike rack headquarters is in Dickeyville, WI population 1,023 and for Iowa Dave it's only 16 miles from the Potosi Brewery. That's almost a two for one.

The Potosi brewery is a pretty nice setup.it has quite a history. The food in the restaurant Is good. If you’re Interested in brewing memorabilia they have a lot of it..
depending upon how you prefer to come south there are a number of
Attractions on the iowa side of the river too.
Driftless museum at Lansing Iowa, Effigy mounds north of Marquette, river museum at Dubuque. To name a few along the great river road.
We used to go up into that country and buy apples in the fall,
Now I grow my own. I like free better.

Looking forward to next week

We changed sites to #48. Hoping to catch a whiff of Mt. Horeb Swedish Rye from Tony who I hope to meet.
Hopefully Dave won’t keep us awake too late at night with whatever talents he chooses to share. Lol

It’s 11:47 and I’m still going strong as a house guest tonight. Told a few camping and outdoor anecdotes and Recounted a good day of touring the extreme SW corner of New York and NW corner of Pennsylvania. We will have some fun done there for sure. Gotta stir up the Canadians this weekend first.

Thanks Dave for the quick reply concerning the water supply, and excuse my being very tardy in my response. Looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the rally attendees next week.

Greg, You are referencing Schubert"s restaurant in Mount Horeb WI which sadly went out of business 6 or more years ago. They were also known for lefsa (Norwegian potato flat bread). Only a week to the rally!

Looking forward to next week/weekend and some good anecdotes! We'll be at PMAN 47 arriving on Thursday. I mentioned to Dave in a PM a while ago that we'd be there.
Sounds like a bottle of sipping whiskey might attract a few folks to our site...

Since I can’t get Swedish rye, sippin whiskey sounds good. I can race turtles back across the road to Wild Thing. (That’s our 5.0)

Watch for turtles on the road at Thomson. And watch your speed. Those rangers can be a little picky. Don’t put whiskey bottles on the table without a sock over them.

The question was how many would be attending the rally.

I stand corrected, I reported there would be 30-50 but was counting the number of units (this being a camper or a day visitor coming to kick the tires).

Here are the number of such units over the recent years.

2017 - 32
2018 - 41
2019 - 21
2020 Covid
2021 - 50
2022 - 29 with incomplete data, estimate 43 actuals.

With several families in attendance the number of attendees is very close to two people per unit. This is close to making up for the solo travelers.

Mississippi River Rendezvous Cancelled Reservation

Unfortunately we had to cancel our reservation at the last minute this year. We're bummed but it can't be helped. In case anyone is interested in getting the site it's site 044, PMAN. Best to all. Here's hoping the weather is good. -Tom

Sorry to hear you had to cancel. So I grabbed 044, transferring from 110 HPOI. which is now open.

We were hoping to see you & Meg again and that pack of dogs you're running with now.

Next year for the Rendezvous, eh?

Hi Tom. Yes, next year for the Rendezvous is the plan. We'll miss seeing you and Mary, and all the other good folks there this time. The pack of dogs you mentioned... We had plans to board both dogs for this year's rally so we could relax a bit more. We'll try to do it next year.

Sorry you’ll have to miss this year. Looking forward to seeing you next year or before, maybe in the spring at Pikes Peak.

Just arrived at Thomson Causeway. Happy to say all sites have water. No need to fill the tanks on the way in

Thanks for that Leon. Our fresh water tank is full but the water has been in there for
Two weeks so I was planning on draining it in the AM before we left and filling it as I came in. Now I’ll just fill at the site. Looking forward to the rally and the dog parade. Jake has new duds this year and is ready to hunt.
See you mid day tomorrow. PM me if you discover you’ve left anything behind. I’ll bring whatever it is down with us.
