Cheryl, wish we could see you and Stephanie and the doggies! Our 21' is now in Texas.

Show us your wrench

In an attempt to accelerate the time it took to conduct the "Torque your Nuts" contest last year Eric Thompson has come up with several ideas. They are as follows.
1. Require Iowa Dave to wear glasses so he can read. This ought to cut the time by 35%.
2. If you have a ratchet type torque wrench with a range that includes 35 to 100 ft. lbs , bring it and bring a short extension (4 or 6 inch) and a 3/4 inch socket. We will set these wrenches to varying settings to home in on your tightened estimations instead of adjusting a single wrench each time. Another 35%
3. We will use a cordless impact driver to loosen the tightened nuts instead of a breaker bar.
The breaker bar will be used to tighten the nuts only. Another 10%.
4. We will ask for a volunteer scribe to record and tally scores. Another 10%.
So, if you have a wrench that's in calibration with an extension and a socket ( test rig has 3/4 inch nuts not 13/16) bring it and lets have some fun.
Ladies are again invited, nay encouraged, to participate. Anyone who knows me knows I am a champion of equality on the job front having respected all women from an early age. My mother worked on the B29s during WWII.
Thank You
Iowa Dave

I'll have my shiny, barley used Proto along. It's always in the camper anyway.

I would have tried to borrow a couple of the "military grade" ones from work but my career has taken a strange turn and I spend my days in front of a computer now. I'm a little concerned about how that's going to effect my tourquing performance.
(Since I'm not practicing at work any more I thought should start some pre-emptive excuse making.)

Great Jim, looking forward to seeing you and Katrina. We can use your new Proto to validate the rest of the wrenches 😀. Those mil spec jobs must go for $ well above what my pay grade ever allowed me to afford. The Proto was dear enough but a man has to have tools. I bought a very nice 1/2 inch Snap On breaker bar at an Estate garage sale for $10 in August. Watched for the sheriff in the rear view all the way home.

Things are looking good for the upcoming rally. It looks like a pretty full campground. My heart goes out to the five campsites in our loop that may be occupied by non fiberglass trailers. Hopefully they will be at the casino(s) during the day, or better yet get invited to join in the festivities.

Lug nuts, fishing the Mississippi, adult beverages, fine dining, nightly fires, and lots of peps who have all drank the same Kool-Aid mixed in a fiberglass container.

It appears we have at least four visitors who have placed orders for trailers or are very close to making a deposit. Share your wealth of knowledge.

Is Jake’s right ear part of his squirrel detection radar system?

Radar

Yup it's radar for sure. There was a big black (melanistic phase) Fox Squirrel (Scurius Niger) at Niagara Falls. He tantalized Jakey running on the split rail fence. I had a high school teacher whose ears would do the same when he heard whispering.

So sorry for your loss. Franklin is 13 and I prayed that he would make it through this year with 2 cross country trips with 4 trips into Canada. He made it and is resting comfortably. Next year our trips will all be local. We have still have Hershey, Franklin's companion, who is turning 10. They bring so much joy into our lives and there is a big void when they depart.

Hi Jim
Nothing like a good dog or two. I ran Jake in the tall grass west of the house today. He was pretty tired this afternoon but is ready to go again tonight. Here's your buddies at Niagara,
Say hi to to Noelia from Rita and me.

Site 107

My grandson was home from school with a sore throat last week. Apparently I picked up the same crud. I just don't want it to move into my lungs. Sorry to say, we are going to miss the rendezvous and will cancel our reservation for Site 107. If someone wants to move to that location it is available. Hopefully, we can join the group next year.

No one here?

We arrived at the Thomson Causeway campground yesterday and we have not seen any other fiberglass trailers. Either we are at the wrong campground, or everyone is a lot busier than we are.
