If I need to take a break out there I can get up into one of the elevated deer stands where there’s a Barronett extra large blind chair . Very comfortable and spins around so I can see out of one of the five widows. We don’t actually have any solid barb wire fences out there. There are some relic pieces from the 50s but mostly just wide fencerows full of songbirds and deer. So being on the fence was a figger of speech. We call those elevated blinds up here
Missouri Hiltons.

Yes, straight hard core Herding lines Aussie. Both parents Herding Titles. Picked up Obed & Rally titles at 9 months. I totally lost control of him, first run! Ready for him the 2nd, CLEAN & FAST. Somewhat Distance training came through.......see I'm behind him! No way to ever keep up!

I think RV's and travel trailers are different kinds of owners then motorcycle owners for the most part. I also think anyone looking at or owning a molded fiberglass product is a little more educated lets say on what owning something like that means. I also think people looking at molded fiberglass are usually not a family of more then 3-4 because of the size limitations of the manufacturers. Way less molded fiberglass options available in both the new and used market so I think that plays a major role in pricing and demand. My two cents worth.
Enjoy the road and smooth travels.

Steve my analogy about the motorcycle was as a comparison of the age demographics. Time will tell but most of the fiberglass community are "cotton tops" like myself. The next generations are not backfilling as we depart due to age or health. One might suggest the entire pandemic with the shutdowns created an artificial demand. Then there are the you tube channels of Traveling Robert, Slim potatoe head, or full timers or van lifers, it creates and depicts an almost fairytale life style.
Shoot full timing isn't all it's cracked up to be, it's work. No one knows the future for certain but, as I originally stated about the motorcycle crowd, observing history can teach some lessons. We shall see what the next few years pans out to be

Yep, brand loyalties give rise to all sorts of good-spirited ribbing, I'm reminded of this Burma Shave style ditty by fans of Indian motorcycles from long ago ....

You make good points bringing up younger people's camping choices. The photogenic YouTube Influencer types do seem to favor Sprinter vans. Also it's turning out that "the younger set" don't tend to have good mechanical/practical skills. We are 51 and have friends in their 30s who admire our Escape but would never want to own a camping trailer because they have no confidence about the setup and care of it.
Remember the recent day when the whole FAA shut down because of one person screwing up some programming? We worry about the effects as older people retire out of the workforce and the "kids" are left running things. We retired at 50 so we're definitely part of the problem, breaking the link of knowledge but it was always a big problem working with the young who simply had no interest in learning how things were done.
I would have said that the young are unable to afford Escapes, but they manage to afford Sprinter vans which are double the cost. So maybe they just don't want trailers.

I didn't want a lot of things when I was in my 30s. I'm at the age where vans and VW campers were what my peeps wanted... or a backpacking tent. So, did all that. Then age happened and hopefully it will for others too. Generally I don't think what any of us desired when we were younger are the same things as we age. Thank goodness!

Well, I had a horse when I was younger, but I never wore a helmet. Must be a sister from another mister.

2017 pricing compared to 2023
Interesting to see what a FULLY loaded E19 cost a short 5 yrs ago compared to today .
The attached shows $51, 196.75 CAD or with the 2017 exchange at 0.765 it would be $39,165.51 USD.
Today an E19 STARTS at $48,175 CAD or $39,170 USD.

My thoughts on that "It would be ideal if you could go to bed one night immature and wake up the next morning senile. Then neither you or anyone else would be able to see the difference".

Also the fact you can no longer pay in Canadian adds another $3800-$6500 per trailer for U.S citizens. for example the starting price of 48,175 CAD with today's exchange rate .73 that would equal 35,328 us fund. so, they're charging U.S customers 39,170 a markup of $3842 just on base price. To reorder my 2020 today it would be A 85% price increase. Yes, we have had record inflation but escape prices have outpaced even the highest inflation numbers.

I would say that volume of trailers now exported to the US require a formal entry, also called a commercial entry, has a lot to do with the separate Canada, US pricing as that would fall under different regulations than an informal or individual importer.
You could still buy in Canadian dollar but couldn't get Canadian 12% tax exception as before and import it yourself.
In the last 5 years the US dollar has had a range of $1.20 CDN to $1.45 CDN, with many sudden jumps and drops.
With 6 month lead times I'd build in some margin.
If one takes the 2017 E19 base price of $31,500 CDN and today's base price of $39,170 CDN that is a price increase of 24.35% working out to less than 5% per year.

Where are you finding 19 base price of Can 39,170? Try $48,175 that's a 50% increase in Can dollars on base price. The Us price increase is much more. I don't believe this has Anything to do with exporting. The buyer is the exporter of the trailer escape handles the paperwork and they do charge a fee for that.
If I price out my 19 today, it's in 85% more Than I paid in 2020
Also, you cannot pay in Candian unless you live in Canada I not sure where you got that info. I just confirmed this with ETI yesterday.
